Club History

Trimley Red Devils was formed in 1975 with a single team of boys of ages between 9 and 11. Over the years the Club has steadily increased the number of teams providing football. Ever since the first days of football with Trimley Red Devils, games have been played on Stennetts Playing Field in Trimley St Mary.

Honours have been plentiful over the years with League and Cup successes with all age groups in a variety of Leagues including the Black Tiles League, Ipswich & Suffolk Youth League, Suffolk & Essex League and the Felixstowe & District League. Individual awards and achievements have also been abundant over the years.

The Club has been successful in nurturing players and are keen to provide a step towards football excellence with many players representing the County teams and also providing players to both Ipswich Town and Norwich City Football Academies.

Trimley Red Devils currently runs 11 age groups from Under 7’s to Under 18’s along with a First Eleven side, which was formed in Season 2004/5 and plays in the Kingsley Healthcare Suffolk & Ipswich Football League, mainly of ex-Trimley youth players. At the end of their first season they won Division 6, won Division 5 two seasons later and then Divisions 4, 3 and 2 in successive seasons.

Trimley Red Devils Reserves entered the SIL in 2009/10, finishing runners-up in both Division 6 and the Club Colours Cup.
