Club History |
The Club was founded in 1975 and at that time membership was restricted to past and present pupils and staff of Copleston High School. The restriction has since been lifted but the vast majority of players and officials are still linked to Copleston High School in some way and the ground remains at the school in Copleston Road, Ipswich.
Coplestonians have now gained Chartered Standard status and is among a small number of Suffolk Clubs which still runs 3 teams; all of these sides have tasted a fair measure of success over the past 30 years with the first team currently in the Senior Division of the SIL. The Reserves play in the SIL Intermediate A league and the A team are in SIL Division 3.
In the 2009/10 season, Coplestonians have introduced two under 18 teams, playing in the Ridgeons Youth league and the South Suffolk Youth League.
