Club History

Capel Plough football club was formed in 1969 as a Sunday side. In 1977 a Saturday side was formed and entered the Suffolk and Ipswich League Division VII. In 1986 it was decided to also run a reserve side which joined the SIL Division VIII. The first team was promoted and relegated on several occasions and in 1998 the club reached the Senior Division for the first time in their short history after winning Division One. They remain in the Senior Division to this day with a 3rd and two 2nd place finishes in the last 3 years and also runners up in the Suffolk Senior Cup in 2006 and 2010.
